I recently purchased an Iraqi Marked Enfield NO 1 MK 3 Cal. 303 British rifle from Royal Tiger Imports. Upon receiving the rifle I thoroughly cleaned it, but when you pull the trigger the firing pin won’t go all the way forward. Then when you start to unbolt it, it turns loose. Can anyone please advise me if there is a step I missed in reassembly or simply have a faulty bolt or worse?

Look to see if it has an early firing pin installed into the wrong bolt head without a slot in it.

If that doesn't work check the position of the lug under the rear of the cocking piece is riding in the correct side of the "H" slot under the bolt body. Also try checking the safety mechanism for correct assembly. Its a multi-start thread & only ONE position works properly.

There's (at least) 2 One has a cut in the bolt head threads, it matches with the single slot striker body No tool is needed, the cut matches the gap & the head is used as a tool for removal. The Other has no slot, requires a tool & has 2 notches. If you unscrew the bolt head you can see the normally hidden threads & slot if its there. Thread lengths are different too to prevent mis-matched builds.

be careful of the iraqu bringbacks a lot of them were kyber pass and not necessarily safe to shoot , only mentioning it because there are a few that have come up lately
