that no one serves life for the crime they committed to get that sentance ?

some serve less than half what they are sentenced to and lifers get out after a very short term , im not influenced by their good behavior after the brutally killed and in most cases i cant think the falmily of the victims would be either ,

behave well and get better treatment in prison but serve your life term till you are dead ,

i was never in favor of charlie manson getting parole - thankfully he never did , but a few of his followerrs did and they committed other crimes , squeaky tried to kill the president , some people should never get out - they are not redeemable ,

just my 2 cents

It does seem daft.
But we have a rarely used "Whole-Life" sentence, they're never to be considered for parole.
I think we have about 70 inmates on the whole-life sentence.
Just shoot them, would save a lot of trouble and money, and free up bed space for other felons.

There are several U.S. states  that "Life Without Parole" means that.  They are some prison units that are basically nursing homes.

Time to bring back the hangman or the firing squad like South Carolina.

Even at today’s prices, $1.00 a round is quite cost effective in dealing with these monsters in our society. Sounds cruel, but do we really think it’s better to spend a million dollars to keep these people for the next 40 years in a jail cell??

i hear you there , but there are way too many in our society that think they can be rehabilitated even tho we know better - and its proven out in repeat offences after release , in recent judicial actions im really offended by some of our judicial systtem , the killer of that insurance CEO is getting off from the obbvious charges by technicalities

We've seen over the years, enough recidivist sex offender's ending up killing the next victim.
Why are they allowed out? The psychiatrist who signed them off for release should share the cell if they re-offend!
It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice!

Here are my thoughts on crime and punishment:  when I was still working for a living I let the frustrations of traffic congestion get the better of me and exceeded the speed limit every day of my life.  I'd get a speeding ticket about every three years so on average I committed the offence 1,000 times before being caught and punished for it.
I doubt there is no criminal bumbling enough to be caught, indicted, tried, convicted and imprisoned for every crime they committed.  There are no hard statistics but in my experience of having known some pretty shady people I would estimate they commit 50 to 100 non-violent crimes for each one they get caught for.
Scumbags that perpetrate violent crimes most likely get caught more often but I bet the ratio is still in the tens to one which brings me to my point.  I don't get all teary-eyed every time my state executes a death row inmate because it is an appropriate punishment for the accumulated misery they have caused others to suffer.
I really get hacked off at the death penalty protestors who show up outside the prison grounds the day of an execution.  I'd like to ask them where they were when the family of the murder victim was suffering and needed comfort?

Fortunately Texas is No.1 in the nation for executing death row inmates.

If you knew the demographics of Texas' 30th district you'd understand how someone so profoundly ignorant as Ms. Crocket could get elected.  She won't be successful in her bid for a Senate seat no matter how much money Soros wastes on her.  It's likely that Cornyn will be replaced by Paxton on the Republican ballot though.
