I'm having trouble sighting my #4 for 100yds (local range). I have a milled ladder sight, which only goes down to 200 plus a couple unmarked clicks (150?)
I suppose I should look into getting a taller front sight. Has anybody done this, and knows which size is correct to mount on the nose?

Its an individual rifle tuning thing, so, unfortunately the "right" one is unique to each rifle.
However each 0.015" change in front sight height gives a 2" shift in poi @ 100 yds, so you can sort it out by shooting a 3 round group very carefully with the sights set to "2". Plot the center of the 3-shot group, then take away the 2 1/4" change for 100~200yds, add what's left & divide by 2. The answer is the number of 0.015" increments of the front sight you need.
