i had occasion to shoot my windermusket [in 22 short only] and my steven 414 [in 22lr] a couple weeks ago , the ammo was all subsonic and the difference between the LR and Shorts was dramatic , but shooting shorts in either a long or long rifle chamber is going to build a carbon ring you will hate cleaning , best to shoot what its chambered for ,

if your looking for quiet - look at a can , or CBs but ill not recommend they first ,

I'm really not wanting to go there.
The SMLE's long barrel, is doing a creditable job on its own.Star

I`ve used these in my 414 Stevens and shoot 100yrd about 8" drop compared to the standard velocity at around 6" drop. And they are very quiet out of the long barrel.

Nope. There's rumors of them failing to exit the long 24 1/2" SMLE barrel.Disapprove
