Test day for the .22 1918 SMLE.

   On Sunday morning I took the 1918 SMLE .22 to the range to adjust the sights back to 50 metres, as I had not shot it since our 200m outing in June. So I had about 60 clicks to take off.It was foggy, so visibility of the target was limited, so I was pleased with the result. Ammunition was Eley Edge. Shot from a sitting position with a sand bag front support 

The reason is also to practice for a Bench Rest competition at our club at the end of the month.
The competition is for "non benchrest rifles less than 5kg in weight and with scopes allowed up to 24x.
However I will be shooting without a scope, using this 107 year old rifle. it will be a lot of fun. 

I tried this two years ago, didn't shoot my best and ended up 25th out of 26 competitors, but the 26th position was our club president, so that was a win!
I hope to improve on that result this year. 
My wife and daughter will be using one of the No8's with a 6X Schmitt Bender scope.

	Very nice Shaun. That’s got to be a tough target (white center) to shoot with irons. Probably explains the vertical spread. A very tight windage spread!
