Some three decades ago I was able to waste some wonderful time in front of a dart board with a pint. The music was mostly Irish with other UK songs mixed in. My favorites were "The Rising of the Moon", "Patriots' Game", & "And the Band played Waltzing Matilda". I liked the music, just good tunes.
Years passed and I read a lot of history, mostly WWII & WWI. Sir Winston's preoccupation with the Dardanelles in both Wars. My favorites play differently to me now. The words have meaning and bring me sorrow. Particularly, "And the Band played Waltzing Matilda". With all respect to you on ANZAC Day:

Thats a great song. I only knew the version by the Pogues; one of my favourites; and possibly one of the only songs I can sing without sounding like a complete idiot.

It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice!
