Hi Andy
I believe that mine is a b-square mount. You can get them on midwayuk, but they're not that cheap. Mine came with the rifle, so I didn't have to shop around. You can check them out on the milsurps forums as there are some very knowledgeable people on here and there who amy be able to offer some more help. Hope this helps. |

"....You rifle is made from a Indian Ishapore No1 MKIII * . ..."
no paddy , its not , its a sported 762x51 2A/2A1` rifle , so those parts must be purchased/used , while there are versions made from the 303 no1 mk3* this is a different animal , we need to be careful not to give out erroneous info here , none of these cut downs are military , they are all sported versions of the military rifles , but both the 2A/2A1 and mk3* sporters by gibbs , sante fe , etc as well as the new made versions are finding favor in collections as they are quite well done and fun to shoot , as to the buttstock , it should be the same on a 2A and a 2A1 , only the backsight is different , different marking scale on the ladder ,

Have a look on the S+K website. They make "no drill" scope mounts for many old military rifles and they do ship to the UK. Prices are OK too: http://www.scopemounts.com/index.html?main.html#. I've been very happy with the one on my No4. |

My local gunshop has one of these Ishapore carbines. Been there for a couple of years. Cheap too. |

Cheers All it's marked RFI 1967 obviously modded previously as has a rubber buttstock. I'm not so much interested in its origins more of the scope options. I will look into what you've all said and see what I can get hold of. Thanks again

I just purchased on of these and plan on shooting 308 plastic practice ammo in it. It's made in Germany and sells in the US for about $15.00/box of twenty. Aguila ammo in 762.x51 is also an inexpensive FMJBT ammo. Hope this helps.
