We have been dealing with an unusual number of fake spam accounts the past couple of weeks. Hasn't been uncommon to have 50 or more that I have to manually remove. It's becoming quite a pain in the backside. ALL OF THEM ARE COMING FROM CHINA!! I'm going to try to find a good UTM that does blocking by country. Maybe that will slow them down a bit.
Sorry, guys, but it's something we have to kind of live with... atleast until I can find a suitable solution. Eric

Eric, thanks for the work you do for us on this site! I belong to a coin collector site that experiences the same spam messages from a Chinese origin. Mostly, they have been blocked, but somehow they continue to slowly erode the blocks. The best thing any of us here can do is to NOT answer any messages that look like they are spam. Completely ignore them.

It's unlikely we will ever be able to block them totally; because they make all the equipment for just about everybody; so they know how to get around the blocks! Thats what we get for western businesses selling out jobs to the slave labour markets

perhaps a conspiratorial inclination on my part but i think the chinese government have set up battalions of their computer wizards to work constantly on these attacks to refine and develop their strategies for attacks on us ,
testing us on every front
