Went to the Ft. Walton FL gun show yesterday

Tony, your son could always do his apprenticeship and then emigrate here to the US.  No shortage of business for a trained 'smith, ESPECIALLY one who knows British weaponry.  If he got a good grounding in Enfields alone, he could make a fortune off of all the guys who come to these fora. 

I read all these posts from guys in Australia, Canada, the UK, etc., and I could not imagine having to jump through all the hoops they have to just to get a rifle.  I've often thought it would be nice to travel and live overseas for a while, but I couldn't do without my ladies.

I guess I'm just spoiled.  It is such a bedrock fact of life (at least where I'm from and live now) that firearms ownership is a birthright and not a privilege dispensed at the whim of the state that I cannot conceive of any other state of affairs as natural or right.  No offense intended to those who suffer this burdensome imposition as a result of an accident of geography.
