So far I only have six No.4 Mk.II, No.4 Mk.II*, and No.4 Mk.III Spike bayonets. Three are No.4 Mk.II, and one of the other three versions. As of yet I do not have one of the elusive No.4 Mk.I versions, but I am still hopefull...LOL. Whenever the Girlfriend and I are at an antique store and see one in it's scabbard in a case I ask to see it...LOL.
Now you need the Pattern-1937 Bayonet Frog to complete the collection...LOL. And God knows there are many variations on those as well...LOL. British, Canadian, Indian, War-time, Post-War, U.S. Lend Lease Plastic "Victory" Scabbard, Pattern-1937, Pattern-1944, etc, it goes on...LOL. Did Australia ever make a frog for the No.4 spike bayonet? All of my British made Pattern-1937 frogs are the type for the Pattern-1907 with a hole cut in the upper loop. Mark |
