Where Canadian No4 riles marked on the forearm with the serial numbers under the following conditions:

New out of factory

After factory rebuild

Canadian No4 rifles with no serial on the forearm. Replaced forearm replaced?

Thanks

My 1941 Long Branch 0L7337 was refurbished (FAZ) in 1948. The fore end does not have any serial#. It also has no Canadian stamping but the butt stock does have C^. Original barrel/action/bolt numbers are matching.

My 1943 Long Branch, 23L1907, has a serial number on the Fore End and a C on the Butt Stock.  It's all matching.  I assume that is how it came from the factory.

Small Arms Limited Long Branch discontinued serial numbering the fore-ends in mid-1942 and never resumed

Cool rifle.

As my Father's parents are Canadian I have a great liking for Canadian military items.

Thanks!

You also have to remember that armourers would possibly number the foreend after replacement. A lot of variance is easy to find. To add, the foreend on my '43 Long Branch is not numbered and it was repaired at one point.

Nice!  An early LB.  You'll have to bring it to the range and I'll bring mine so we can compare what changed between '41 and '43

I believe the wood on my Long Branch is all original as the color and grain is so similar to the point that even a master woodcrafter couldn't match a replacement fore-end to look that original.
