Wider front sights for the No4

   Wider not higher or lower. My eyes aren't what they used to be and i wonder if the British made wider sight blades. If not, its either custom or cut the front sight base for a standard 3/8 dovetail.Thanks

	I had the same problem and split a piece of thicker steel near to the top and tapped it down over the existing sight. The only thing is that you need to file the existing sight down a little so the remaining unsplit part of the wider steel is still at the same height. A simple fix that took all of a 1/2 hr and has been a permanent fix.

	I glued two pieces of plastic either side and shaped it accordingly
	Not a complete idiot. Still missing a few parts.

	Trying to find it, but I saw a posting on a site where somebody took a small spring steel roll pin, opened the split up a bit so that it could be clipped over the blade tip. It had the effect of heightening the blade and turning it into a bead front sight. I haven't tried it, but it sure sounds simple to do.

	that was me on the roll pin, have used it on a couple of rifles.to keep battle sight hite one could get the lower blades from springfield sporter and measure. use a dremmel with the the thin cut off wheel.I found it works best with a 6 o clock hold...put one on a husky 9.3&57 that had a broken bead, son in law was popin clay piegons at 200 yards. for that I need a scope,,,
