I was at the range yesterday with a guy who shoot's a No4 in the National Service Rifle competitions.
He is using an American leather sniper sling, I think it's a 1903 type. Would that be correct? It seems to be much better than the standard issue Enfield sling for stability. He suggested Turner Saddlery in the USA. which are new production and quite expensive. What length would be normal for using on the No4's and No1MkIII's? Who else can supply these type of sling?

The 1903 leather sling is definitely correct.

Our service rifle rules only allow 2 point's of attachment. So it would be the 1903 that I need.
Is Turner Saddlery the best option?

You can’t get a better sling than the Turner Saddlery Biothane 1907 National Match type sling. They work great on the No. 4. So much better than the regular leather sling, will not stretch and hooks won’t pull thru the holes.

Turner, in my experience, is very good, but a bit slow on delivery. I get the feeling they're semi-custom & sometimes build to order?

that 1903 sling is actually the US M1907 leather sling , the WWI versions had brass claws and the WWII had steel , both would be correct for your use depending on your rifle ,

I've ordered one leather and one Biothane; in case only the leather version is accepted in competition. Althhough I expect it won't be an issue.
