I was under the impression that the letter being included within the serial # was just a designator for a new batch of serial #'s. I thought the Stamp on the left socket depicting the place of manufacture was something like; M47 or B was for BSA Shirley, and M was for Maltby, like F was for Fazakerly. Have I been wrong with my thinking, or am I just talking about something different from what you are talking about?
