Hi,

Please tell me if I'm in the wrong place.

I have a No.1 Mk III Musket that needs some parts and cleaning. Actually it needs rebuilding so I will probably come back a few times before it's done.

The first thing I'd like to know is if there is a chamber gauge for the .410 musket round. I don't need the .410 shotgun No-Go gauge, I want the original Enfield gauge if there is one. If there isn't, does anyone have the measurements for the round? Since this gun is not a deactivated gun I would like to be able to use it after the rebuild. Does anyone see a reason why that can't be done?

I appreciate and assistance.

Have never got around to shooting mine, but did come across some information covering its cartridge dimensions on the internet. According to my records enter ".410 musket", then scroll down to "410 Indian Musket - Cartridge Collectors" and you should find all you need.

First check the actual chambering!
Some take the blown out .303 case, others a standard .410 Some were originally the blown out .303 but have been rebored to standard .410.

I have taken mine squirrel hunting with my home made rounds.
My load only used less than a half ounce of shot … but it did the job pretty good !!!

these were made as a 310 or blown out 303 , some got over here and were reemed to the US 410 , i had one of each back when , i only shot the 410 version as i never got around to making up the 310 rounds , it patterned like another 410 i had , shot well enough ,
