Kinda got slowed down. Was going to order a receiver wrench from Brownells but they ran out at the last second. Need to find one somewhere else.

I once took off a barrel using a vice and a pipe wrench. Not what I would recommend though. I forget what I used to protect the action in the vice, probably aluminium. The barrel was scrap anyway.
I have a copy of Howe's books. I wonder if he shows how to build such tools? If so I could scan them for you.

If you reload and your rifling is still there. I would suggest slug your bore first, then paper patch to make the bulletthe correct size. this will save you the hassel and expense of rebarelling.My .02 and yes I am that cheap. Good luck, capn' |
