I picked up two barreled receivers today and the receivers look okay but, the barrels are shot.  I know there's a trick to removing the barrels without causing damage and it involves a barrel wrench.

Can someone tell me how to do it without damaging the receiver?

Does anyone have a picture of a barrel wrench for a No4 Mk1?

Hi there this is my action wrench for Lee Enfields mine clamps onto the receiver ring but you only have to nip it up if you tighten the daylights out off it you can clamp it onto the barrel thread the armorers tool is a loose fit on the receiver but you can damage the king post thread easily

My action wrench does not tighten on the action and can be slipped over it and removed very quickly without tightening and loosening screws. Kind of like a C spanner. It's very quick to use and very easy to make.

Sorry, I forgot the link. See the first topic titled "How do I get my old barrel off. It's really stuck!" It worked for me. I was able to unscrew the barrel by hand after I made the cut. http://www.specialinterestarms.com/index.php?page=faq" Note “H” is not necessarily true. I intended to set my barrel back two threads and recut the chamber. No.4 barrel threads are 14 tpi or 0.0714” per turn, so setting the barrel back two threads is 0.1428”. I used a parting blade that was 3/32” (0.09375”) wide leaving me with 0.049” to play with.

Sorry, I didn't get reply notifications....

Phil - No, I have a knee mill.  Don't have access to a lathe.  (That's my NEXT big purchase).  I can see how cutting the shoulder off the barrel would work, but, no lathe.  :(

Homer - Pictures of this magic wrench please...

I'll toss in a few images of my action wrench. I bought the action wrench from Midwayusa.com about 10 years ago. It is made for flat bottom recievers. They still sale them. I made the adaptor out of a piece of 2" X 1/2" flat bar, and some 1" X 1/4" flat bar. I ground and filed the 1" stuff so that it nicely fit the contours on either side of the action then welded them into place. Best of all it didn't cost me anything.
