so - are these used with the front volley ? or do they use the front rifle sight ? i like them but im not quite getting it yet , i would think one nededed the offset to in line with barrel ,

They are folding sights. The windage rotates over & up to the left & then the elevation folds down & forwards, leaving the rifle's original sights to be used for snap shooting. The center one in the pic has a rear volley sight fitted to the pivot, so it can be used with volley fore-sights. It fits in what nowadays is a washer (spacer) on the outside of the safety. That's where the offset came from. Later models (on the left & right) did away with the replacement rear volley sight as there was no matching volley foresight to use it with. Open for use: ![]() Folded for storage on non sniping use just use the original open sights: ![]() (Super, Uber rare) stamped sheet metal protective cover. ![]() The different mounting brackets are for various rifles, Martini, Long Lee & SMLE

Here s some pics of the sights on My 1913 Lithgow ,serial number 160 the parkersight on the last pic I didn’t tighten down the screw enough so it sat out a little but wanted to show what they look like on the rifle , i was putting a 1915 leather sling on this one today as well.

Sweet! (insanely jealous!) They all need individual shimming, or the "dogleg" bending, as the butt socket isn't a "gauged part". That's the standard mount, I found the "close up" now all I need is a flipping sight to go on to it!
