he!!o all! New member. Long time enfield owner. I have 3 in my collection. 2 bog standard No.4s and an Ishapore. My issue I find is many moons ago(approx 20 years) I picked up a spam can of .303 but cant remember any pertinent details on it and am absolutely loathe to break it open just to verify whats inside. The markings are H52 MK1 second line H&L 1945. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

H52 mk1 is the container designation, H&L 1945 is the manufacturer and date.
These were transport containers,
H52 was inside an H51 box, and 2 h51`s where inside an H50
These were used for small arms ammo.
So the big box probably had the ammo type stenciled on its sides, unless the spam can has ammo type marked on it, you won`t know for sure whats in it unless you peel off the top.
if 303 it could be clipped loose, bandoleers or belted.
Cheers
