I recently bought one of the Century International Arms .410 muskets, and I have managed to find all the missing parts, except the front handguard. This also seems to be the one part I can't find. If you know where one is available, please let me know. Even if it is in pieces, I can repair it they way it would have been by original armorers.

Upon taking it apart, I noticed both the barrel and receiver had been spray painted OD green. does anyone know the history behind the OD green, as opposed to the normal black paint?

Has anyone here reamed the chamber for 2.5"/2.75" .410 shot she!!s? If so, what depth did you go to?

Thanks in advance.

Good luck on the handguard, they are dried up now. I am in the same boat having bought 5 of the Century muskets. Thankfully 2 of mine do have intact front handguards but they are all missing the rears. As for the paint, it was just a corrosion preventative. In the case of these I am glad they are painted, I would hate to imagine what they would have been like without it.

Yup - It makes you want to go digging in their stores to see what little (unknown)gems they may have.
