So one of my recent project purchases turns out to be something I`m just not going to pursue so if anyone wants a 1917 SSA sporter with a bubba botched .222rem conversion I`d be open to offers, I paid $250 shipped. Could be re barreled I suppose, the barrel that was used is a No7 .22 barrel. That`s a shame in its self, but definitely not strong enough for .222. Being proofed at 8 tons per and being reamed out to.222 and having a 1:16 twist I would never shoot it. The twist rate alone limits bullets to less than 50grs and should be short bullets to stabilize, I don`t want to load another calibre. So what you get is an ssa reciever, bolt, butt stock with brass butt plate and sported fore stock, beach I believe, and a hollow magazine, no guts. If there`s no interest here i`ll post it on gunpost.ca
