Sometimes junk take off fore-ends from rifle and shotguns can be fashioned into a cheek piece riser easy enough. Instead of letting them sit in the old stock barrel collecting dust things like that can be repurposed and put to use elsewhere. Usually the in-letting for the barrel channel on a rifle stock is just about wide enough to straddle over the comb and a good start. Wood is usually pretty enough to fit them out well. I suppose someone who is handy with tools could fashion a decent facsimile of one of those easy enough with patience and some tooling. Ive used them a few times especially for youth guns equipped with a scope or just to get a good cheek weld on some hunting rifles.

i taped the top of the comb (masking tape). covered well with release agent. used acraglas gel on the bottom of the comb. centered the comb riser and pressed down to squeez out the excess. next day, a perfect fit. i use good double sided tape to install.

Carbine hand-guards too. Not really cheap, but probably 80% of the work is done for you. |
