There are various other bits of metal sticking out of the wall as well.
I suspect it was probably just to hang a net of hay for the horses.

After more than two months I feel that we could do with another change! Not an Enfield, but a British long-reach carbine with its bayonet. A Jacobs Rifle and sighted up to 2,000 yards! |

Pull the trigger, thrust blade... steel and lead probably hit the target at the same time! Be tough to turn around in doorways!

Actually, maybe the rear sight is calibrated for 75 yards when all the way up!
