ok i went hunting on the weekend. i took the 303 wile my dad had his .223.

we were hoping to see pigs, and we did.

but it started out at 5 30 am. we got the rifles, ammo, camo and so on. we hoped in the car and went 5 mins to the state forrest. everthing was set. we went walking about about 10 mins down the road and my dad had already taken 2 rabbits with his remington. a few hours into the trip, at about 8 30 we were starting to wonder if the pigs were there or not. at that moment when i asked what time it was, and pig came running past us and we sh*t our pants. my dad climbed a tree and i was up another one. the bloody thing decided to hang around to see if we would come down. so i charged up the mag with 5 rounds wile sitting about 5 meters off the ground. i closed the bolt, mt heard was pumping, hands shaking, rifle aimed. straight on its head.......

BOOOM, head shot. the bullet went inside the top of its head and down its neck. it droped dead on the spot.  then after the eco of the shot 4 pigs came running past, i ended up with a shot in on one pigs behind and one more pig went down. mind you these were small pigs, they still had tusks, just not big ones. after that a fox came along and stoped and sniffed around and looked at the pig for a wile to see what was going on, i already had a round in the chamber waiting for the pigs to come back and decided that the fox must die.

after taking the shot i think it would have been better for the .223 REM to shoot the fox. i couldent even get a tail from the fox as a trophy ... i hit it in the middle and it ripped in half seeing as though it was about 10 meters away.

after that we waited a little bit to see if it was all clear. we got down and cheacked out the victims and decided a celebration was in order, the celebrations included following a blood trail from the pig i shot in the ass. we found it dead about 1200 meters up the trail, not bad if you ask me. the shot passed through a few organs so it was a goner.

on the way back to the car we stoped off at a rabbit warren and my dad took out 13 rabbits before they noticed that a few of them had died and made a run for it. we decided that we had done enough after about 4 hours hunting and went home.

i will post pics when i can get photobuvket to work

Hello Dunno,
Nice hunt, I went hunting with a Doctor that my Wife used to work with. He had got out of college and hired on at the clinic that my Wife works at, He was a few years
younger than me.He didnt know anyone out hear so my Wife invited him and his
feance' (guess thats spelled wrong) over to shoot one week end and me and him
became good buds, so he took me hunting with his Dad on there hunting club lease
down in Hopedale south of New Orleans . we were going for deer but they told me I
could take a pig if I wanted to, needles to say that first trip no deer or pig for me.
Doc got one though. man i have never seen an animal cleaned so neetly, since this Doctor was a veterinarian every cut he made was perfect . he made cleaning an animale look so easy. at that time i had never cleaned a pig or shot one. the next 2 times i went i ended up getting 3 ,1 my 2nd trip and 2 the 3rd trip . well we wont be going hunting there any time soon that place was right to the west side of Katrina's eye it was wiped clean the store/marina we launched at is gone nothing
but a few pillings and the cement bait well are left.
Have'nt heard from Doc since either last thing i had heard was that he lost every thing his new clinic and his house. lots of my friends from there did also , we also had family in Empir also south of N.O. there was not even some thing of there house left NADA  0  nothing.  I look back at those 3 hunts and think man how memories that are great stay with us forever.
Got some other more happy stories about hunts mayby some other time.

Oh, boyo..I brought it in today, & was samplin it round.A few tense moments, too. The leader on next line (Kelly) is a big lad.he tried it & right away figgered I was pullin somethin on him - like feedin him sh** in a tube.Well, he was gonna MASH me!! He was chasin me all around the cars goin
down the line, the supervisor was chasin him, & everyone was yellin & hootin!! Evrynow & then I'd run by my station & manage to throw a part or two into the car - but couldn't stop until Kelly was under control!
Man - some people!
