41-year-old Gulf War veteran has been charged with the murders of four members of his own family.
David Bradley, a former Royal Artillery private, was charged with killing Peter Purcell, 70, Josie Purcell, 70, Keith, 44, and Glen, 41, who were all shot dead at their home in the West End of Newcastle. Bradley, of Benwell Grove, Newcastle, will appear before Newcastle Magistrates' Court. A Northumbria Police spokesman said in a statement: "David Bradley, 41, of Benwell Grove, Newcastle, has been charged with four murders, the murders of Keith, Peter, Josie and Glen Purcell. "Bradley has been remanded in custody to appear before Newcastle Magistrates at 10am on Tuesday." Bradley had walked into a police station in Newcastle upon Tyne and told officers he had shot his elderly aunt, uncle and two of their sons with a silenced pistol at the terrace home he shared with them. Bradley was carrying a bag containing a handgun fitted with a silencer, a pump-action shotgun and ammunition when he walked into the station. He also told officers the bag contained a home-made nail bomb, forcing the station to be evacuated while bomb disposal experts from Catterick in North Yorkshire carried out a controlled explosion. Bradley was struggling to cope with his experiences in the Gulf War and had made a desperate plea for help almost a decade ago, according to one veteran of that campaign. |

Gun control is something that from a political standpoint baffles any logical mind. Logic says if something doesn't work you dipose of it. But with gun control if it don't work they add more to it. Some people are just idiots. No other way to describe. More over the UK already has some of the strictest gun laws of the civilised world. The fact that this still happened should be a sign. But there ae none so blind as those who refuse to see. I often ponder that all the gun banners should create their own nation. Turn loose of few criminals just to see what would happen. The world would be better off. Excuse the langauge but gun banner's are some of the most absolutely stupid people I have met. They serve as prrof for Charles Darwin. And sometimes I think apes evolved from them. </end rant> |

Biggest laugh is Dave they say its post combat stress. He had told a local Gulf Veterans Association he was having nightmares, cold sweats and other problems after seeing four of his colleagues killed in a "friendly fire" incident in Iraq in 1991. Wait for it! Guess who they blame !! The Royal Regiment of Fusiliers was the British regiment that suffered the worst casualties in the Gulf War. Nine of its soldiers were killed by "friendly fire" from US soldiers, including the four colleagues of Bradley who died when an A10 Tankbuster blasted their Warrior armoured vehicle in broad daylight. The excuse they gave for the incident is " The pilots guide dog fell off the wing!" Did it have a parachute Richard?? Who's kidding who ? Lots of us on here had the same stress we don't use it as an excuse to run amok. |
