I picked up a great shooting sporterized British-made No4Mk1*.
Good and cheap. Downside is its stock has been through hell and
at one point knew the wrath of god. My question is whether anyone
is familiar with aftermarket synthetic stocks...my interests being
primarily for function, not esthetics. I'm looking at the popular
"Advanced Technology" brand ones that are everywhere...?

Hey Shotgunminister , do you mean the guy that actualy does the bidding and selecting of the crates of neat stuff that freaks like me want to buy and have a shrine to the god of forgotten millitary items, that maybe some day i will find a packed box of something really coooool??!!??! Oh waight i did that today! does finding something in your own attic count???? well i found 4 30 round magazines 2 20round M16 A2 or A1. in an old duffel bag allong with a SAW sling from when i was a saw gunner, makes me want to get up there and dig around. I know i have some body armor some where around here. well it is getting kinda cool down here like around the mid 90s so it wont be long i will head up in the attic for the day........

Thats the guy? Thats all you have to say? nothing about him telling you about some goodies that you might be interested in????? I would be washing his car mowing his lawn just to get to be there to help dig through the boxes of treasures. I have to forget about the stuff i put away in the attic to get that close to finding something old and lost...

Cool SGM, I wish i could get that lucky down here by me, there are no importers most everone i deal with is out west or out east. the shops around here are mainly pawn shops and not too many around here of them. we have one pawn shop in thibodaux and one on old 90 Hwy, and they think all there stuff is gold, wish i had the money to open a gun shop,
But the other problem would be is letting the weapons go, i have a hard time with that. I have found an Enfield that was sporterized, the price they had on it was $300.00 and the bore was in bad shape and the rest was rusted bad lots of pits.
Well I wish you luck on him finding more Enfield stuff, your luck will also be our win also, there should be enough left over for the rest of the Enfield gurus to draw from for the great Enfield Projects. I my self have a couple that im in progress of refurbishing, or maybe sporterizing if i cant get the stocks well let me go and good luck with your cousins friend, maybe he will let you know when the good stuff is in, in advance.
