Scope mount loosens up after shooting ....We had it hitting one click to the left and then it went all over the place ... I may try and shim it to see if that will help . or find another type mount that replaces the rear sight that holds tighter .....
I need to try the mauser mounts out to see if they are better than the nagant mounts !!! |

Didnt get to mess with it today , the Wife had Honey-dos for Me !!! Any how I ended up having to make the hoarse leave the wood shop !! We were putting new floor down and the Damn horse walked up the steps to see what we were doing ...She came right in.... She has done it before and from what I hear the previous owners thought it was neat that she walked up on their porch for a treat !!!
Just hope she dont get in there and leave little hoof prints on the newly painted floor !!!! LOL!! any how , the rifle will have to wait till I get back from work , if I get to go out there this week !!! |

What kind of scope is that? It looks good on that rifle. I don't normally like the looks of the scout mount setup, but with that scope it looks alright.

Scope? I have gotten very good results using the iron sights on these rifles. They do shoot high with the bayonet removed though. The post in the front sight base comes right out when removed from the barrel. I've replaced it with a finish nail. Filing it down after walks the group right to point of aim.

Smokey, I'm asking about scopes because I am losing the sight in my right eye. In a few years I will probably be blind in that eye. I prefer iron sights myself, but I have a hard time with them being right handed. More than likely I will have to start training myself to shoot left handed thanks to my eyesight, but scopes are a way to delay that for a little while. Don't worry, no D&T on my rifles
Rhino, thanks for the info. I went to their website and checked out the scopes. I may have to pester you some more about them sometime.

No problem Bear43 , I am an Aim Sports Dealer ...
Smokey , I have about 7 or 8 more of them Nagants in several configurations !! this one was a round receiver , I put the scope on it just for the hell of it and I wanted to see how well I could get it to group .... Same thing on the Bosnian Mauser , I have a couple or more of them , and I bought My Adopted Son a pristine 24/47 for X-Mass one year and He put a scout scope and the rear sight mount ...its dead on at 100 yards .... |

My apologies for a careless remark.
I have been duly appraised of the error of my ways.
I sometimes forget that some people really need a scope to be able to aim at all.

Smokey, I certainly didn't take any offense at your comment either. I only wanted to clarify my situation so as to explain the interest in scopes. Believe me, I have fired many more rounds with iron sights than I ever have with a scope, but alas life changes do happen. Don't think I was upset or anything, I wasn't and your comment wasn't careless or anything of the sort.
