OK, so Quebec wants out of Canada and???  Where the heck do they think they'll go?  I've been to Montreal and Q City - they made it very clear that they think Americans are Satan incarnate.  Come on guys, what's the secret squirrel plan here?

i see that being french had its roots , as well as being english , you folks need to learn to get along and melt together into a nice homogenized country ........oh yes that was our great experiment wasnt it ? wonder where that went wrong - mostly in the last 20 years - oh , yes  , we started encouraging imagrants to keep their old ways rather than fittin in , our bad

Didn't they PO the French .GOV a few years back when they had some "separate this year" thing going on back in the 80's IIRC?

The French offered support & les Quebecois told 'em to stuff it they didn't need any help from frogs?

So Quebec thinks it can survive as it's own country?  OK, let 'em try.  Oh, and sell tickets for this show - it should be a good one!

I thought it was not just Quebec but the maritime provinces as a unit that wanted to become it's own country.

Naw-its the Quebecers.SOME of them want to seceed. It was DeGaulle that fanned the fires back in the 70's when he came here and beaked-off sayin"Vive le Quebec!" (& vive somethin else-I cant remeber..but it sure got 'em stirred up!!
France has held onto the islands of St.Pierre & Michelon forever. They are in OUR waters. They get along with us OK..fishin & all.But the FRENCH seem to feel the need to keep a gunboat or two there, to protect these French citizens from Canada.(We are SO aggressive)
As I said before...the French ARE different.(& lts like they have a different word for everything!)

Exactly! Its supposed to be quite scenic-as well.
But if Quebec thinks France will support them...They better open some history books & LEARN!
