For all you NSA members in South Africa.

There are a bunch of new shooting disciplines as well as new targets and rules regarding the postal shoots. One discipline that caught my eye was Historical Rifles. i.e those older than 65 years. So a lot of those Enfields fall in this category.

Quote Any centre-fire calibres of which the rifle is proven to be older than 65 years (thus produced before 1950) (proof of year of production of rifle must accompany all shot targets sent to the office for this exercise).

Any centre-fire calibre of any rifle design (pre-1900 reproduction) with an external hammer is allowed, if build to pre-1900 specification and fitted with correct period metallic sights.

Only open sights are allowed.

The shooting distance measured from the target to the edge of the firing line closest to the shooter is 50 meters.

3 shots at 50m shot on one A4 target in your own time scored out of 30 points.

It is NSA policy that participants use support for all postal rifle shoots (any shooting position is valid), with the exception that the butt of the gunstock may not be rested or supported on anything else than the shoulder.

In  the U.S.  we have Vintage Military Rifle  matches. They are open to "as Issued" military bolt action & straight pull rifles. We usually have three or four of those a year at my gun club. They go up to state and National level.
Have a Nice Day
If already having a nice day please disregard

We have to submit targets every year just to maintain our dedicated status, or else we can only own a maximum of 4 firearms.

Can you use postal targets for this?
