Anyone tell me what this rifle is? I think it is a mark III, does that make it a No.1? It is a .303 british caliber. Is that a safety missing? Does Numrich carry those parts? |

Yes its a No1 MkIII*, also known as a Short Magazine Lee Enfield or SMLE.
The safety is missing. |

he!!o and Welcome to the forum
Your rifle is a Number 1 Mark III* SMLE the * means the the Magazine cut off and Volley sights were deleted as a wartime measure to speed up production. The safety is missing and all the major parts dealers should have the parts to replace it. Your barrel appears to be intact, so you could return it to military dress if you desire.

Thank ya folks! It shoots nice. .303 British does kick some though. I put up there with my .30-06. The Mosin-Nagant is less.

What is the manufacturer? The rifle is either an SSA or NRF built rifle. If you look on the receiver, right behind where the safety lever would sit, the manufacturer will be stamped there. Most likely it is an SSA since the vast majority of NRF's are 1918 dated.
