I am currently reading "Dark Sky, Deep Water. By Norman Franks.
It's an interesting account of the Anti U boat war by the pilots of the Allied Air forces. It is very well researched; with the history of many first hand accounts of the confict; described from both U-Boat crews and Air crews; which gives a good balance.
It's a part of WWII that is often overlooked; yet American, Canadian and British pilots were all involved.
Some of the US units flying from Brazil for the South Atlantic.
Flying straight and level at 50 feet altitude to depth charge a sub thats got a straight shot with multiple 20mm AA guns! that's courage!
It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice!
