The PH5C will not fit on the No 8 action without the ejector screw hole.
Neither will the Addeley Precision scope mount. Both use this as one of the anchor points. The PH5D target sight for the No 8 mounts using the hole near the safety lever, and the hole on the side of the charger bridge.

Zed has both types of No.8 so he can use the one with the ejector hole.
Having 2 types of No.8 must be like being a millionaire. Real wealth..

We actually took them both out on Saturday. My wife and I shot at our club's 50 metre service training rifle
competition. She has not shot the rifle for over a year; but looking at the 5 practice rounds, she was ahead! I don't have the final result's until tomorrow; as they were counting up at the end of the day. But a quick look through the spotting scope at the end of the "prone" series of 10 shot's. I got 6x10, 3x9 and 1x8 for 95/100. After a quick glance at her target looks like we are close, maybe 1 point in it. I did not count up as a couple of her shot's were on the line of 9/10, so not sure two they will be scored. I think I did better in the standing series of 10; so hopefully I'll not be washing up for the next week!

Got the results for last weekends competition. I got a 3rd place with 95/100 prone and 80/100 standing.
My wife got 5th with 94/100 prone and 77/100 standing. So we were pleased with the results
