I re looked at the lettering just above the rear trigger screw is the import markings I'm pretty sure of. I saw another Enfield on Gunbroker with the same letters in the same place. I took the photos of the other markings on the receiver, may not be the best. I think you can make them out.

I haven't done anything with the rifle so far, was going to buy bullets, dies, brass next month. Just have to wait and see how everything goes right now.

Hope the wifey is doing well.
The first pic with the * stamped on the top of the receiver. Check the chamber and bore for any rust.

Looks like a very nice clean example of a Maltby made No4 Mk1 rifle.
Personally I would not do anything to the wood other than a rub down with some linseed oil.
I sure hope your wife will be OK. Good health is the most important thing you can have.
It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice!
