Black powder season opened up here Monday. We went out and buddy got a nice doe. I marinated the tenderloins over night in Italian dressing. Yesterday after cutting up the deer I wrapped them in bacon and did them on the briquet BBQ. Medium rare. OMG!

Did a pit rotisserie years back, filled the body cavity with chopped apples & bacon. Sewed it up like a turkey! Best venison I ever ate.

Mr. Hoadie. Close, but wrong! I still have my mint condition Thompson Centre Renegade I bought 30 years ago! Shoot 385 gr Hornady Buffalo bullets pushed out by 90 gr of Goex Black Powder. Open sites. All my buddies have the latest and greatest, triple 7 powder, shotgun primers, 245 gr sabots, scope... not the way I roll!
