britrifles I like your list and thoughts. For rifle I'm thinking about the same till the last 2 steps. I have a Lyman All American turret press. At that point I'll have a box of primed cases ready on the left side of the press. I'll pick one up and put it in and then use the powder stage. With the same case in the she!! holder I'll turn the turret head and then set the bullet then remove finished round and put in box on left side. That's my plan at this time for the Rifle rounds. Have different plans for the pistol rounds. More Later. Later 42rocker

I use my old single stage Grey Lyman for depriming with the Lee universal decapping tool. Everything else I do on the Dillon RL 550b. I inherited the press with a shed load of caliber conversions so I actually have a head with its own dies for each of the 3 L-E rifles! Its the best combination I've come up with for accuracy & speed of production. The Dillon's weak point is its fired primer / new primer handling so I just do that separately plus it lets me work on the primer pocket during the reloading stages. Other than that i absolutely rely on the RL 550b to load it better than I shoot it. |

Nice setup. In a few minutes I'm going to go and work on changing my setup and try to make it better. Plan is more of a universal mounting setup so I can change out presses. If it goes well I try to take a pics or two to show what I'm doing. I do have to share the area with my wife and my other projects. I don't plan on reloading everyday as I don't go to the range that often. I host shoots twice a year and that's where I mainly do my shooting. Right now planning to setup and load around 500 rounds over a week or what ever time it takes. More later on this. Later 42rocker

ive kept mine simple and compact out of necessity but i long wished it was able to be fixed in a comfortable room , ive got mine bolted to a heavy duty work mate , it works fine for what i do and i have no need to expand it at this point in life , i do envy you folks that have better facilities tho ,
i did pick up a lee primer to prime my 45-70s and it is working great , i looked at it as being a cheap item but had seen way too many good reviews from friends and acquaintances to not give it a try , it has outdone itself , granted i apply it to avery limited application but im happy with it , |

The Lee primer tool is what I'm using and think that I'll keep on using. Still working on the new setup. Got to get some nuts and bolts tomorrow. Later 42rocker

For priming on press I actually preferred my old Dillon RL-450b, it had a screw stop adjustment for the primer seating depth. That went away on the RL550b because of the need for the flat plate for the bottom of the Fail/Safe powder dump actuating rod. One day I'm gong to unbolt the whole thing & see if the threaded hole still exists in the she!!-plate holder & see if I can drill a matching clearance hole in the Fail/safe plate to reactivate it! Unfortunately that means a complete press realignment & I'm avoiding that chore! |

I like your lighting setup. Looks like you are reloading more than 303. Guessing that your primer pocket tools are those clipped on the side of your shelve? Someday I'll get it together. LOL. Later 42rocker

Yes. 3 X .303 setups, one for the No4 Mk2, one for the No5 Mk1 sporter & another for the ShtLE. I also load for 7.62mm NATO & .38 Spl/.357 Mag. The clips in back are the primer tools but I keep them in the handles till I need them so the cats
don't steal them! Then I put them in the electric screwdriver you
can just see on the top shelf behind the handles. I also have the inside neck cleaning brushes there. The lighting is just those flexible automotive LED strips & a 12v battery pack, but it makes a HUGE difference. |

3 different setups for just 303. Wow I'm sure that you are at the level that requires those setups. Again your lighting setup looks great. Your reloading 7.62 NATO is also of interest as I'll be reloading .308 for several weapons. Two of which is belt fed so might need to do a basic bulk load. Later 42rocker

Its really just accommodating different guns. One likes Partial F/L sized cases, IMR 3031 & a 150 Gr pill, the others like 4895 & neck sizing. As the inherited press came with about 6 setups I just used what I had to allow them all to be used easily.
