Hoadie. Had his tenderloins (marinated in Italian Zesty dressing for 4 hours) then wrapped in bacon done on a charcoal grill to share with buddies while we cut and wrapped the rest of him. Yummy! To be true, I honour all game I kill. I try to recycle. I put a big piece of back fat in my bird feeder. Birds love it! The carcass we take back out to the field... then wait for the coyotes.

My buddy came from Blighty on the 8th. We went to cabin on 9th. Started to snow just north of Toronto. Didn't stop for the duration.Snow was so deep, the ATVs stayed in the garage. We saw lots of tracks in the snow. Game cameras showed lots of deer (1 10 point & 1 8 point) lots of does...but they were only at night!! . The 13th it was -20C. Driveway(450 meteres downhill) turned to ice w/a layer of snow on top. We moved the lighter vehicles to upper lot for parking early..but when I went to leave on 17th - I was pulling the trailer. Got 1/3 way up & ice took over. Trying to go forward I managed to keep evrything straight for a bit, as I slid backwards, gathering momentum downhill. Finally it jacknifed badly.(Thought trailer was going to roll) Guess I was lucky with only $2,500 damage. ...& NO G/D VENISON!!

I've been in a similar situation as you, Hoadie. It gets scary and as you experienced, expensive as well. I'm glad you made it out alive and well.

The snowmobile was left behind for us. We used it & the ski-boose to shuttle folks & equip up & down the drive. I thought it would have chewed up the is somewat..it didn't. When I saw the guys slipping & falling all over it, I figgered I'd be in a bit of trouble.

Scary hunting trip. One of the few benefits of living on the prairies, no hills!

Not an Enfield but a T/C Venture 30:06 with Vortex Viper 3-9x40 scope. Deadly accurate and great for those very long shots. I always bring an Enfield with me but it was in the truck.

Hey Canuck, don't mean to be a pain, but those are the same pics you posted last year.  What's up?

Oooops, I'm getting old and possibly senile. One year melts into the next so quickly! LOL. Same deer hunting area, same friends, new pics coming as soon as my buddy sends them to me.
