I was recently assisted by a couple of senior members regarding the cocking piece on one of my two Enfields. Now that I've squared that part away and all is back in order, I thought I'd introduce myself; Captainjohn from Seattle, WA (vicinity). AND I wanted to insert a few photos of one of my favorites; (pending moderator approval!) This was purchased at a small antique shop a few years back, and my father-in-law said I paid too much... It was well under $200. At the time, I had no idea as to what a Lee Enfield was, except for the fact that, in the glass display cabinet, it looked like (and was confirmed as being), a WW II rifle. Without question, the generation that used this rifle, was the greatest, when the country came together to defeat fascism.

Since the purchase, and after some on-going research, I've decided that this will be my favorite rifle and it has many great competitors in the safe! I ended up purchasing a 2nd Enfield (same model), just so the first could have company in the safe. This one's photo'd here is a #4 Mk 1* Long Branch 1944. The bolt action glides like butter with Amsoil Gun Lubricant and the furniture is well protected using Renaissance Micro Wax Polish. My local gunsmith said to use Renaissance on everything, except, of course the 303 rounds. I'm glad to be a part of this forum and look forward to continuing my research into these outstanding WW II weapons.
Always ready

Great photos! You live just south of me, I'm just across the 49th parallel, next door to Sumas, WA.

I don't get up into BC often... had to facilitate an event at Port Roberts WA some time back, but that only meant passing through BC. Maybe down the road, we'll connect and swap rifle stories.
Always ready
