Ok, popped some primers out, tumbled them for 30 minutes. Now looking at the primers holes they still look like they should be cleaned out.
Any ideas? Or what do you do??

Thanks in Advance.

RCBS has primer hole cleaners. Kind of a wire brush attached to a fancy green plastic handle. When I started out reloading, I couldn't afford that Gizmo. I did have a very small headed flat screw driver I could lay flat to the bottom of the primer hole, and ream out the carbon. I did this prior to tumbling. Then, any medium blocking the small hole, I would push out with a toothpick. Very Bubba method. I still use it. I now bare my chest, bow my head, to the hardcore precision handloaders!

Lee also has a small hand held pocket reamer, it`ll do large and small primer pockets, I use it, don`t mind as I only load in small batches.

Well I'm just starting out. Most of my guns kick the brass way out and before it's over I'm using mixed range brass. That will change when I'm shooting any Enfield's, that brass is to hard to find down here in Fla. So main thing is that I normally sort the brass into 9mm. 45acp,  .308, 3006 etc. Then vibrate for 15 minutes then lub and resize deprime and then vibrate for 30 minutes then start the reloading process. Now I'm thinking that I'll have to add a clean out primer hole then vibrate again.
Seems that getting the brass ready is one of the longer parts. Of course I forgot to go over checking the case length and trimming (if needed). The fun of reloading.
Thanks for the input.

I'm lazy.
Star
I use an old electric screwdriver (a drill is too fast) with a chuck adapter. I just chuck a short piece of cleaning rod & screw any tool bits into that. I have a primer pocket uniformer, primer flash hole reamer, large & small cleaning brushes & even my chamfer/deburr tool fits with it's own adapter!

I deprime before tumbling. I clean the primer hole out after that and don't re-tumble. I've never (knock on wood) had an issue.

I use a homemade de-priming tool. which is a 5/16 (8mm) diameter bolt about 4" long. It's drilled and fitted with a short piece of 1.6mm welding rod; which fits nicely through the primer hole for .303 or .45ACP. I use an old bench drill frame as a press to push the bolt down ans eject the primer. Cost was zero. The rim of the case sits on a suitable nut and a slotted block of hard wood. So the old primer drops into a small tray. I then resize the cases and clean them in an ultrasonic cleaner. Primer holes come out spotless after a few cycles. I use a homebrew mix for the ultrasonic cleaners.
It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice!

I clean out the primer pockets with a depth uniformer chucked in a small hand drill. I didn’t like what the steel wire brush tool was dong to the primer pockets.

Well as it turns out as shiloh pointed out there is a Lee Primer pocket cleaner tool and has a retail of $2.98 and I just found out one of the gun shop ranges in the area is a Lee dealer. So planning to stop by sometime and buy and test it out. At $3.00 I can live with that price. Might try chucking it into something later. Thanks for the input.

Wet tumbling seems to clean the pockets pretty well, but introduces its own issues (e.g. drying).
