I never did use milsurp, even when it was offered cheap.(Left to my own devices, I can screw ANYTHING up, I don't need help!)
Too bad you guys aint around here.I just recently started saving my .303 brass for my 'Merican pards that re-enact WWII.(They do a CDN unit) I gave 'em a box of approx 75 rnds of once fired brass,Remington, mostly, back in August.
Now I plucked about 35 or 40 out of my beer cap bucket @ my cabin(they were mixed in with all the others..30.06,270, 6.5x55 etc.) They're free for the taking

Hey Hoadie, I told a friend of mine to save me his .38 special brass for me to reload, well he told some buddies of his his son inlaw and now every now and then i find a bag or two of all kinds of brass in my mail box, on my front porch steps, or some ole boy will drive up to the house and ask if im Tillmans buddy that reloads? and then hand me a bag of brass or Adam shows up with 2 pockets full from his cousin or some one he knows. Man i wish these guys would shoot .303 so i could get a lot of that brass.
I really need to go through all that brass to see what i got. so i can start making some trades. and reloading again.

This year, there was 4 of us left in deer camp - & we were all using .303.(Brian's semi auto screwed up so he brought out his"back up") I ALWAYS use mine, Colin didn't want to be "left out" so he shelved his 30/30, & used his .303, & Harry felt like a black sheep with the 6.5 X 55, so he grabbed one of my spare .303's.Whilest I never fired a shot, they chewed up a few rounds..ahem - "sighting in". Funny..they always seem to enjoy shooting the Enfields more than other rifles, but use others in the field.(Guess ya gotta appear cool)

Well I hope they saved your brass for you to reload so they can shoot next time.

Raider,

FYI-I attended a rather large gun show today. There were maybe 500 tables, and two sellers with large amounts of surplus, and new ammo. There was no surplus 303 Brit to be had! Both dealers said they did not know of any surplus 303 that will be hitting the market.
They did carry new Seller and Bellote (sp?). I didn't buy any, since I am still shooting some of my older surplus ammo.

I also noted several Ishapores at the show. 308 South African in battle packs were still available, but the dealer thought that was going to be gone in a short time. I think he wanted $40.00 for 250 rounds.

Thanks Bubba. Reloading 303 is the way to go. BTW those SA battle packs hold 140rds each. Wonder how many packs the dealer sold at $40 each.

I don't re-load.Too much bother! When I can buy first rate ammo @ 17 - 20 $ CDN per box (Federal, Remington, Winchester brands) where is the incentive to tie-up $$ in equipment & supplies-not to mention build a secure room for said activities.
Up until recently the brass languishes in the "beer cap bucket" on the main pole in the cabin.
I don't want spent casings lying about, so the lads pick 'em up & put 'em in the bucket
Ya want 'em?
