I took delivery of a treasure trove of historical information.

One of the fellows @ my Legion was cleaning out a house prior to sale. Everything was going into dumpster.
Except this..LIFE magazine - consecutive months from the 1930's thru 1960's. Prime condition.
He said he had been offered "a significant amount of money" for them..but they aren't for sale.
He sought me out because I am a bit of a historian - he knows I won't sell them, & we are looking for a good home for them in a Library, museum etc.
Anyone with connections please contact me.

This is stuff that should be available to the public.

Loose wimmen tightened here

Wow and double Wow.
That's a lot of history there.
Will make a lot of good reading, any chance of posting some of the pics or articles because that area was bloody interesting, great cars, art nouveau, music Django Reinhardt and "the hot club" aircraft development.
This reminds me of the time I worked for an Australian Telco "Telstra" as a cable jointer, one time I was following the cable laying dozer through the bush jointing the cables and testing,my van at the time was filling up with scrap cable pieces and I took the scrap to the local tip/dump as I unloaded saw a pile of neatly dumped magazines on the ground, so I wondered over and took them home.
What I found was 1923 editions of "Australian air and Auto", Indian motorcycle pamphlet in colour (red of course) from the 30-40's I think, plus other magazines and a Vauxhall car poster with all the models of that year.an brochure for a Buick car from about the same era.Great reading love the era of the 20's through to the 40"s.
Still have them.
I know what I like & like what I know.

Is there some version of a "Hysterical (Historical) Society" there?
They might be a big help.
