Hms sheffield was fitted out with stainless and cutlery from my old Home town hoadie. I lost some mates when Galahad copped it. Worst part was Goose Green my mates FN took a hit and steel splinters copped me in the leg. Didn't realise until later and the fireworks had calmed down. Surprised HM Government didn't try to bill me for the scrap metal.

Here in Saskatchewan, a deer rifle was always a 303, until the economy
got better in the '70's and most hunters fell for the Magnum siren
song. (Me, too, I'm ashamed to say) . I finally realized that my 308
Norma didn't kill 'em any deader than the old "crowbar", so I dusted
off my cut down #1 Mk4 and hit the deer woods. 18" barrel, Williams
sights, and a home-built 5-shot clip. Keeps the freezer full!

R.Pope-welcome to the site!
Cudos on your ability to manufacture your own 5 shot MAGAZINE.(Not "Clip" - MAGAZINE) Since your new to the site - you probably didn't see my posting a while back - directed primarily @ Canucks - re: magazine laws. Just in case you weren't aware, the Lee Enfield & the M-1 Garand (8 shot semi auto) ARE SPECIFICALLY EXEMPT from the magazine laws in Canada. Your right bout everyone fallin fer the image of a fancier shootin iron.(Glad to say I didn't - I'm dyed in the wool Enfield!) I got other irons, but I rely on & trust my Enfield(s). A note of caution bout this site..watch out fer a guy named daveh. Hoadie |
