i carry most days , unless i know im going somewhere it is illegal that day , i believe in following the law even when i believe it infringes on my second amendment rights ,

to be law abiding citizens we need to comply even if we disagree - that does not stop us from trying to change the laws and restore the second amendment to full rights similar to the first and that foolish 16th that has cost the US public so much for things that we never intended to fund ,

I'm never without my CZ75 (preB) in 9mmP. We, fortunately, don't have concealed carry laws. So mine is hidden from view all the time.  A lot of places (like banks) have no guns allowed signs. I ignore them. I'm carrying legally and if they want my business then they must just accept it.
Rather have one and not need it, than need one and not have it.

Ah, but it depends where in the world you are.

If I'm not mistaken in Texas you can use force to protect your livelihood. In South Africa the law dictates that life is more valuable than property. So, in theory, if I have a rhino poacher using poison to poison a waterhole, I am legally not allowed to draw a firearm on him unless he physically threatens my life. i.e. he rushes me.

But if you fiull your water bottle from the water hole it would threaten your life! so maybe that would allow you to draw your firearm!Thumbs Up

No, because the "person" is not threatening you directly or any other human life. If there is any chance of you not coming into direct contact with him, then the lawyers will have a field day with you in court.

That line of thinking reminds me of my brother's situation in court a while back.(He's in a wheelchair - his wife has dog(s). The law said you must post a sign "Beware of Dog" to legally protect yourself.
So he did...
One night a couple kids (Teens) hopped the fence to steal stuff from his back yard shed.
One got bit by a dog. He ended up in court.
He argued that the signs were posted..prosecution then had a field day ..."So - you KNEW the dog would bite." Therefore, you must have placed the dog there for that intent.
A lot of bother

It may have been better to post a sign saying "Be aware of the dog" as opposed to "Beware of the dog"
Not quite the same meaning.

That would not work at my house this year as I am dog sitting for a male pit bull till the end of March.

I have dogs but this dog is just nuts.

He is six months old has been fixed around New Years but it take a while for them to "calm down". I have to keep him out side or at night in a dog crate. If he got a chance he would have at it with the cow.

Should I put up a sign, "dog will screw you to death" ?

that is basically how our carry law works here , must retreat if possible , only able to confront to protect "life" , has to be life or death and you better be able to prove it , still gonna cost you a fortune in court as hoadie points out ,

Luckily in Tennessee we have "stand your ground" law. Still have to prove you were in fear, but you do not have to retreat.

I'm surprised that there are no laws on razor wire. Poor criminal, got all cut up trying to get through it.
I blame the extreme liberals. Short of using claymores, you should be able to use any means to protect your property.
Sometimes I think it would be best to declare your property a shooting range. "Sorry your honour but  he crossed the 1000 meter range just as I was firing. Yes your honour I do a lot of my load development at 2am."

I follow the Constitution of the United States of America.  In particular the 2nd Amendment.  Along with confidence in my ability and regard for the reasonable rights of others I do as my conscience dictates.
