I went dark

   For give me, I went dark in to the 223 land. I turned 65 and I thought it would make life grand. Only good to shoot yotes and ground hogs.

	Always looking for military manuals, Dodge M37 items,books on Berlin Germany, old atlases ( before 1946) , military maps of Scotland. English and Canadian gun parts.

	ive been there for so long that i currently have four , five if you count my AR19 that my son is usu=ing these days , i built two each for my kids , a 16" and a 22"one of mine is a dedicated 22cal , and one is a retro 1969 M16 [in a domestic semiauto of course]

	the M16 has a conversion unit in it in this photo but it still shoots 223/556 with the other bolt installed , oh and thats my cooey in that photo as well ,

	I've always wondered why the Ruger Mini-14 never became the standard infantry rifle. Other than it isn't black and sexy, seems like a pretty simple and dependable weapon. Was it because it didn't have "full auto" capabilities? At least, I don't think it does.

	The mini 14 is loosely based on the M14 and designed for the commercial market, not really a service rifle. Handy little rife for varmint shooting, but like all good things here in Canada, its one of the no no`s along with the M14/305`s , a real shame.

	There was a F/A version it was markets to many services but not accepted by any, they called it the AC-556, to save confusion with the civilian Mini-14. Bil Ruger was an odd duck in some ways, he didn't like the idea of "military magazines & guns" being in civvy hands. Basically it held the same relationship with the Mini-14 that the M-15 held with the M-14.
