Well just followed Shamu's directions and measured the barrel length on two different Enfields and they both came out to 25 3/8. So as Pukka Bundook said barrel length looks good. Now to think about if I want to restore this one or not. As far as the wood and other parts go I think that I have everything needed just not with the correct markings. Thanks Again for all of the input. Later 42rocker

Re. restore or not Rocker;
Bear in mind an armourer would use the first correct bit out of the bin full, they wouldn't try and match factory parts, just the right part whoever made it! I have a 1927 Lithgow, and it's as it came here from OZ, and has an odd Enfield part on it. Just telling you this in case it helps. R.

Well myself I'm one of those folks that likes to "try" to get them back during a restore to like it came from the factory. I have been collecting makers marks to build 1917a1 and also 1919a4's back to the they came from the factory. So will "try" to get as "close" as possible but on Enfield's, I don't have tons of Enfield parts so "try" will have to do. While at the gun show today, Saturday I bought two more Enfields, they were both redone. I'll try to post pics Sunday night. The one has matching numbers, bolt, barrel, receiver. Other one has been scoped. Pics later I hope. Got home from the show to find out that a large 18inch branch came down last night on the roof on a rental we own. Working on cleaned that up has been and will be more fun over the next week. Later 42rocker
