How have I not heard of this late WWII gem of a television show?  Absolutely hilarious!

I guess I must have.  I've always been a huge fan of British Comedy since I was young.  The "Carry On" gang, Two Ronnies, Bennie Hill, Fawlty Towers, Monty Python, Dad's Army, Mrs. Malaprop, On the Buses were all regular fare in my house growing up.  Never saw this show before.  Oh well, something new for me to enjoy so long as blatant poofery doesn't ban it!

Its being "downgraded" & no longer shown in England.
"The po' ikkle dahliks" can't stand the  "racism" involved with the Indian characters.

"Unlike other sitcoms written by Perry and Croft, such as Dad’s Army, the series does not get repeated by the BBC, as it is regarded as falling short of modern broadcasting standards concerning its content.[2] In 2014, Ed Richards, then chief executive of Ofcom, said 1970s and 1980s sitcoms with racist and offensive content "are unimaginable today", with all viewers objecting to such broadcasts. The Telegraph specified It Ain't Half Hot Mum as one of the shows to which he was referring.[18][19]

Perry told Guardian journalist Stuart Jeffries in 2003, "It is without doubt the funniest series that David Croft and I wrote. Of course, it is also the show that we're not allowed to talk about any more." Jeffries reported, "It's regarded as a racist show, and banished to the televisual margin that is UK Gold".[2] In the opinion of journalist Neil Clark, for a profile of Perry written for The Daily Telegraph a decade later, it "appears to have fallen victim to political correctness"

Are You Being Served; is another 1970's classic which will never see the light of day again on British TV.

My favourite line?
"Captain Peacock, have you seen my pussy? Not lately Mrs. Slocombe."
She was of course referring to her cat!

We thoroughly enjoyed all of those shows back in the day.
It's got ridiculous these days. Far too much political interference in all forms of TV, whether it be comedy or the evening News.
You have to see people like Ricky Gervais for great comedy, the series "After Life"Confused is excellent, as is his movie, "The invention of lying"
Definitely worth a look if have the time!
It is essential to laugh at life and it difficulties, it is the best release of stress!

It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice!

My wife did.

You never saw the cat as it was in the carrier. The the mouse run in to the carrier and the cat spit it out.

IIRC it was hiding under a hat on the counter?
Maybe we saw a paw, or did the hat simply leap out & grab the clockwork mouse.
