I am extremely satisfied with this purchase.  The rust was only superficial and the whole of the bayonet cleaned up very nicely.  I did find what I can only assume is an inspectors mark, 87Z.
 The G crown R
         No4 MkII
SM  shows up nicely as well.  The following photos have the No4 MkI cruciform as a reference point.

Nice kit!!!

Just an observation.I noticed that on the cruciform bayonet, there is an engraved broad arrow marking.

I have seen this done on many different components. Seems to be an Australian thing to mark in this way. Not sure as to why or when it was done. I could be way off, but I am curious.

Has anybody else seen these electric engraver markings?

According to my reference book the electro stencils of the broad arrow over the 22 were done at the Singer plant. Curiously enough, I found a very faded out electro stenciled broad arrow over 22 over what looks like mc on the MkII I just purchased. I cleaned it up as best as I could.

I had to enhance the picture.  Both appear to have the same font.
