Yes...  that type of individual can be a problem. Within reenactment circles it does become an issue, as they have a blatant disregard for the historical facts. Whether or not they do it diliberatelly, or they just do not know that they are ignoring well documented fact..  is another matter.
I have had several... confrontations... with such individuals in the past. One actually merely a couple of years ago.. from a very well known vendor who shall remain nameless, but should have known better than to take the stand he did. In his case, even though I produced ample historical evidence, both written and photographic, he refused to budge on the grounds of financial loss to himself. Basically... selfishness!
Passing over missinformation comes in many forms, and to knowingly carry it out is the worst crime ever in my opinion.
This is MY rifle, there are many like, but this one... is MINE!
