I tripped over these on line & thought I'd offer them up as a possible Group Buy?

I'm getting one for sure.
The more we get the better the price up to 5.
I'm thinking with today's availability lacking & several serious target shooters this might be worthwhile?

It comes as a "Flat Pack" & you assemble it, which sounds kind of like fun & runs on "Lighter Kerosene", I have a pm in to them asking for a qualification on exactly what that it is. Zippo fluid or Paraffin.

Please let me know if you're interested in this thread.
if you read the ad & watch the video its very informative.
We can get as few as 2, but we don't get the bigger discount that way.
Having run GBs in the past I'm familiar with all the things that can go wrong, so here's how I'll play it.
Post a definite "I'll take one (or more) in this thread, send the payment + $5.00 for my onward shipping costs & we'll see how many we get in & how much we can lower the price for all of us.

Lets set a deadline for posting interest & payment which will start the order.
I want to give people time to ask questions & get replies so how does 2 weeks from now sound That would be Feb 2nd.

sight blackening lamp? $22.99! (or less + shipping)

Anyone up for a group buy? We can save 20% if we get 5.

When you order please include you actual shipping address & forum name so I know who is who &if you want "Gold" or "Silver" finish.

Disclaimer this is being run by me, not the forum & I have no affiliation with the vendor at all.

Let me know how you feel about his

Follow up, regarding sight blackening. The original "carbide candles" are still available, as is the "lamp grade (pea) carbide, but its a bit spendy.

Lamp grade Calcium Carbide.

13 X 1oz peas.

$23.50

https://cheapcarbide.com/pea-grade-calcium-carbide/

carbide candle.

WR Super Smoker Sight Smoker $ 69.95

Carbide not included. We are unable to ship carbide.

SIGHT BLACK for the blackest sights and the best reduction of light and glare...there is no better solution than the proven Ray-Vin designed Super Smoker sight smoker.

The WR Super Smoker (originally designed and patented by Ray-Vin) is a sight smoker, specifically designed to convert calcium carbide to acetylene, then burn the acetylene with limited oxygen to produce a very black non-reflective soot. This soot is applied to the sights of firearms (such as rifles and pistols) making them jet flat black to prevent any sighting issues due to irregular or undesired light, glare, and/or reflection. With so many options on the market, calcium carbide sight black is the BEST sight blackener option available.

The Super Smoker has been engineered for simple and reliable use and constructed from materials to offer corrosion resistance and long trouble-free life. It's a proven design.

Then for those of us "Highlander level fiscally conservative"Confused
I offer this tip.
If you have "fatwood" as a firestarter. (a.k.a. "pitch pine")
you can shave off match sized shavings, light them at one end & use that very smoky flame.
Big smile

More impressive, and "Enfield Forum" correct, would be a trench-lighter made from a 303 cartridge case.

Various versions but this is mine with a sliding wind shield and cap to go over the wick to stop the petrol evaporating.

Various versions of that are available too, but they use "petrol" (naptha based).
This one is smokier for carbon black & kerosene (paraffin) doesn't evaporate like Petrol/naptha. Thats why the caption said "KERO"

1. Please allow 1-3 mm difference due to manual measurement, thank you for your understanding.
2. Due to the difference between different monitor settings, the image may not reflect the actual colour of the item. Thank you for your understanding.
3. We had to empty the lighter completely, as international shipping safety regulations do not allow the refilling of gas. Refilling is required.
