To complicate further - look at the picture of the rear sights.

You will note that the sights themselves are 'assemblies' of a variety of components.

For example look at the Mk4 sight ………..
The 'body' (leaf) of the slide is a Mk3 'body'. Many people would read this as it being a Mk3 rear sight.

The 'body' (Leaf) of the Mk3 sight is a MKII (Mk2) and many people would suggest that this is a Mk2 rear sight - BUT the Mk2 is the simple 'Flip over' sight.


The devil is in the detail.
