Looks quite promising Steve.  Get the sights zeroed and shoot some 10 shot groups.  If you are not completely confident in your prone slow skill, shoot off the bench.

40 grains of IMR 4895, Re 15 or Varget should do just fine.  I’ve settled on Varget, it meters well from the measure and is quite temp stable from 40 to 90 degrees, the range of temps I shoot matches.

Have you tried the 174 gr Sierra Matchking or Hornady Match?  Both shoot very well from my No. 4 and is what I use in CMP VMR matches.

Three shot groups can be deceiving.  Today, shooting my No. 4 prone at 200 yds, the first 5 shots grouped at 1.0 inch (0.5 MOA), the 6th shot opened the group up to just over 1 MOA.

10 shot groups at 1.5 to 2 MOA prone are certainly achievable with this rifle, and quite easy to clean the SR target at 200 yds.

Thanks Britrifles, The three shot groups are sighters, I shot some 5 and 10 shot groups yesterday and they opened up to about 2 inches at 100 yards, still not bad.  It was cold, in the mid to high 30's with off and on rain which may have an effect on the accuracy.  I'll try some Varget and match bullets as soon as it warm up a bit plus it's been snowing since last night....too early for this stuff!  Steve

If you have a bad shoulder, I strongly suggest a Past Pad.  They sell for about $30 on eBay, you wear it on your shoulder it makes shooting painless.  Alan
